All Stars in the NBA Market
Two all stars (although they have declined in recent times) have dominated the market during the early hours of this morning. They are power forward Amar'e Stoudemire, who after a few seasons far from the level he exhibited in Phoenix has just signed for the Miami Heat, and the point guard Deron Williams. The player and the Brooklyn Nets have reached an agreement to terminate his contract (buyout), so in the event that no one claims him in the next 48 hours, he will be free to negotiate his future. And that's where the Mavericks come in, the team from the city where he grew up.
Stoudemire Signs with the Heat
Let's go step by step. Stoudemire was released by the Knicks (a franchise with which he signed a 100 million dollar contract in 2010) last February. Shortly after, he signed a new one for the remainder of the season with the Mavericks. Now, as a free agent, he has reached an agreement to defend the interests of the Heat: 1.5 million euros for one year, the veteran's minimum. The player will thus join the fourth NBA franchise of his career. Pat Riley, president of the team from South Florida, wanted to welcome the newcomer: "He will bring seriousness, leadership, and a hard-working mentality to our team."

Williams' Uncertain Future
While Amar'e's arrival in Miami is official, the same cannot be said for Deron Williams' arrival in Dallas. What is certain is that he no longer belongs to the Nets, where he has not been able to perform as he did in his time with the Jazz, when he and Chris Paul debated who was the best point guard in the League. The buyout signed with Brooklyn means that he will receive 27.5 million dollars (out of the remaining 43) that he had in the last two years of his contract, spread over the next five years. A reduction that benefits both parties: the player (if no one claims him on waivers, which seems almost impossible) will become an unrestricted free agent and the franchise sees its salary cap significantly reduced.
