Yenier Márquez confirmed the desertion of his teammate Keiler García, who was the starting forward. When asked if he would follow his teammate's example, Márquez was firm: "I wouldn't do it and I have no reason to do it."
"As captain of the team, I can say that those things may affect us a little, but as long as we are always united and focused on what we want, I don't think it will cause us any problem."
The center dismissed that the Cuban government will take measures against the team members. "Why would they retaliate if we are Cubans, besides people can already leave Cuba and there is no problem," clarified the captain.
