Antonio Luna and Sergio Gontán ‘Keko’, presented as new signings of Eibar

Both Antonio Luna and Sergio Gontán 'Keko', the first two signings of the club, have been presented today at Ipurua as new players of Eibar for the next two seasons.

Antonio Luna, left-back from Mallorca, is 24 years old and comes from the youth academy of Sevilla. In his first season in the first team, 2009/2010, he had the opportunity to start in the final of the Copa del Rey that his team won against Atlético de Madrid. Until 2013, when he left Sevilla, he played for the Sevillian team and was loaned to Almería and Mallorca. In 2013, he signed for Aston Villa in England. Last season he was loaned to two Italian teams: Hellas Verona and Spezia Calcio.

Keko, 23-year-old right winger from Madrid, started his career in the youth categories of Atlético de Madrid, where he made his debut in the 2009/2010 season. He then played on loan for Real Valladolid, F.C Cartagena and Girona Fútbol Club.

In 2012, he signed for Catania and stayed in Italy for three seasons, first on loan to Grosseto and then in the Calabrian team. Last season he played for Albacete Balompié, in Second Division, where he played 32 matches and scored six goals.

In his unveiling, Antonio Luna said he is eager to forget last season's bad experience, "gain confidence and playing time, and help in any way possible." "Returning to La Liga with Eibar is a great step for me and I hope to prove that they made the right decision in signing me."

Keko has thanked José Luis Mendilibar for his trust, with whom he briefly coincided in Valladolid in 2010. The coach secured his loan to Valladolid, but four days later, Mendilibar was dismissed by the club. "Eibar is a good springboard and a stepping stone to be in La Liga. The club has shown a lot of interest in bringing me here and it is a team that has a tremendous merit."

The president of Eibar, Alex Aranzábal, stated that this double presentation "has a great symbolic value in the current situation of the club, because we send a positive and strong message that we are a team in La Liga. It is a firm step forward."

Fran Garagarza, technical secretary of the blue and white team, emphasized that Luna and Keko "are two young guys, who come with hunger and on an upward trajectory. They were our first choices and we are satisfied" with their incorporation into the Guipuzcoa team.
