The Association for the Defense of the Rights of the FC Barcelona Member has filed a lawsuit against Jordi Cases
The pharmacist from Olesa de Montserrat who filed a complaint against the board of directors of the Catalan club for the Neymar case, under the belief that with his criminal action he only sought to "erode the image of the club and its president".
Through a statement, this association has explained that it sues Cases on the grounds that he caused "harmful and disloyal harm to the rest of the FC Barcelona members and to FC Barcelona itself" and that he "misused the criminal jurisdiction as an instrument of personal vendetta".
Cases requested the board of directors at the time headed by Sandro Rosell to clarify the destination of the €40 million that the club paid to Neymar's father's company, as part of the Brazilian international's signing. And, after not receiving a response, he filed a complaint for misappropriation with the National Court.
Although the member later withdrew said complaint, the case continued at the request of the prosecutor, who is seeking 7 years and 3 months of imprisonment for Rosell and 2 years and 3 months for Josep Maria Bartomeu, who succeeded him in office, for tax offenses and disloyal administration.
"There are several facts that demonstrate that Mr. Cases' criminal action did not pursue the objective that is inherent to this type of proceedings and that it only sought to undermine the image of FC Barcelona and its president," concludes the Association for the Defense of FC Barcelona Members to justify their lawsuit.
