Note: Misael Rodriguez to Make Professional Debut

Misael Rodriguez is close to making his professional boxing debut. 'El Chino', the winner of a bronze medal in the 75-kilogram category at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, has signed a contract with RingStar Sports to end his amateur career and start his childhood dream of "becoming a world champion".

"I am excited to have signed with RingStar Sports. After returning from the Olympics, I knew it was time to start a professional career," said the Mexican boxer, who stated that when Richard Schaefer's promotion contacted him, "I knew it was the place I wanted to be". He has always appreciated the way Schaefer has developed boxing talent, so choosing them as his promoter was an easy decision.

Misael Rodriguez is the second Mexican boxer who participated in Rio to make the leap to the professional level, joining his compatriot Joselito Velazquez.
