When asked about what position he sees himself playing, the Galician footballer has responded that "it's up to the coach to decide".

The forward Iago Aspas has declared today that, in his return to Balaídos, he has found a "different" Celta de Vigo, as, in his opinion, the club has taken "a big step" in recent years, both in terms of facilities and players.

"Celta is clearly on an upward trajectory. Both in sports and economics, things are being done very well. Clubs now respect Celta much more, outside of Vigo it is respected differently," commented the player in a press conference.

A growth that Aspas, who returns after his time at Liverpool and Sevilla, hopes Celta maintains in the new league season to achieve the coveted qualification for the Europa League, but without forgetting that the "primary" goal will be to secure survival in the BBVA league.

"The most important thing is to reach those 40 points as soon as possible that ensure permanence and then aim for more," pointed out the forward, who expressed his "happiness" for the renewal of Chilean international Fabian Orellana because "he is a friend and he has given a lot to the club in recent years."

Aspas has highlighted that Celta maintains "a good core" from last season, which he considers has been "strengthened" with his arrival and that of Danish international Daniel Wass.

He confessed that he has been received "very well" in the dressing room, and pointed out that Swedish striker John Guidetti, whom he knows from his time at Manchester City and whom the club led by Carlos Mouriño has asked about, would be "a good complement" for the offensive line.

"I knew many teammates from my previous time here and they have made everything very easy for me. On the first day, you are a little more timid but after the second, I feel much better," stated Aspas.

Finally, when asked in which position he sees himself playing, the Galician footballer responded that "the coach is the one who has to decide."

"With Eusebio, I played more on the wing, with Paco Herrera as a forward, and when I went to England, more as a playmaker," he said.
