Boxer Jairo "Peligroso" Hernandez prepares for his upcoming fight against Joet Gonzalez

The fighter from Laguna, Jairo "Peligroso" Hernandez, leaves this Sunday for Los Angeles, where he will fight on December 17th in the Featherweight division. His opponent will be the undefeated American, Joet Gonzalez. This will be his second fight outside of Mexico.

Yesterday, Saturday afternoon, Jairo completed his training in Laguna at Alberto "Contador" Soto's Boxing Gym.

He will complete the rest of his training at the gym of the former world champion, Daniel Ponce de Leon, who is currently his trainer and manager.

"I feel stronger and faster in the Featherweight division. In Torreon, I relied on Contador Soto for training and we have gained a lot of speed and strength."

Jairo will fight as part of the "Final 1" event, headlined by Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins, a 51-year-old veteran boxer who will face the boxing promise Joe Smith. The event will take place on December 17th at the Forum Inglewood in California.

"I'm fighting in Los Angeles, in an event where Hopkins is the main fighter, and I'm going up against a very tough opponent like Joet. But I have confidence in the excellent preparation I have had here and the month of work I will close with my trainer and manager, Daniel Ponce de Leon," said Jairo, who has a record of 17 wins and 10 losses.

His opponent is currently undefeated in 14 professional fights. This will be Jairo's second fight outside of Mexico, having previously fought at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California, where he had a tough battle against the American, Roy Tapia, who won by unanimous decision.

"This will be my second fight outside of Mexico. In the first one, we had a tough fight against Roy Tapia, the decision was a bit close. We analyzed the details, what went wrong in that fight, and now we are stronger in a higher weight division. I struggled a bit to fight in the Super Bantamweight division last time, now we are going in Featherweight to see how we feel," commented Jairo.

He intends to continue in the Featherweight division, where he feels fast and strong. "In the Featherweight division, I feel stronger and faster. In Torreon, I relied on Contador Soto for training and we have gained a lot of speed and strength," he concluded.
