The Elche CF is finalizing the reconstruction of its coaching staff with the arrival of Joan Francesc Ferrer 'Rubi' as the new coach of the team and Javier Cabello as the general manager, as confirmed by sources from the club.
The club hopes to complete these two operations throughout the current week in order to present both coaches to the media before the start of preseason training on Monday, July 13th at the Martínez Valero stadium.
Rubi, who coached Real Valladolid last season and led them to the promotion playoffs to La Liga, has accepted coaching Elche in both La Liga and Segunda División, the category in which the club will play if their administrative demotion is confirmed.
The agreement with the coach is almost complete, only the formal signing is pending for the former coach of Girona, Barcelona, and Benidorm, among other teams, to become the new occupant of the Martínez Valero bench.
Elche is the only team in La Liga and Segunda División that has not yet officially confirmed the name of its new coach for the upcoming season.
The presentation of Valencia-born coach Javier Cabello as the general manager is also imminent. He was previously the coach of Cultural Leonesa and had responsibilities in the Valencia youth academy and the youth football of Villarreal.
Cabello, who will oversee the academy of the club and be the new technical director, publicly bid farewell to the Cultural fans a few days ago, the team he coached last season.
