The Spanish Katusha rider, Ángel Vicioso, has become the leader of the Tour of Austria

Vicioso finished second in the stage behind Rick Zabel, BMC rider and son of the former rider Erik Zabel, which allowed him to surpass the German Gerald Ciolek in the classification and become the new leader of the Austrian round.

At 38 years old, Vicioso expressed satisfaction for becoming the leader of the race. At the finish line, the Spanish rider shared his impressions about the stage: "This morning I was really motivated to do well in this route. I was fast in the sprint and the climb in the last kilometers made a selection for the end of the stage. I wanted to get time bonuses and, why not, go for the yellow jersey. A large group arrived at the finish, but I felt capable of doing a strong sprint. I started a bit early (the sprint) and after the last curve, only Zabel managed to pass me."
