Edinson Cavani denies viral letter criticizing Chile and Gonzalo Jara
The forward of the Uruguayan national team, Edinson Cavani, has denied writing a viral letter on Facebook that heavily criticizes the Chilean team and especially defender Gonzalo Jara. The defender caused Cavani's expulsion from the Copa America 2015 quarter-finals after touching his intimate parts and mentioning his father.
"Regarding messages that impersonate my identity, I reiterate that these are my official accounts and no others," Cavani mentioned on his official Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter profiles.

The letter referenced by the Uruguayan was shared on the fake Facebook account: Edi Cavani "El Matador". At the end of the text, it is mentioned that it was also published in the newspaper El Gráfico, which is not true.
"A few days have passed, but there is a wound that does not heal. I feel disappointed, Jara disappointed me, Chile disappointed me, the refereeing disappointed me, and I also felt that football disappointed me," reads the message from the Facebook account impersonating Paris Saint Germain's forward.

During the match against Chile, Cavani played knowing that his father had a traffic accident while intoxicated and could be sentenced to several years in prison for murder. During the match, Jara provoked him by sticking a finger in his backside and telling him that his father would spend twenty years in prison.
