The Copa América is history. Colombian fans turn the page on the tournament that attracted attention for 24 days and start looking again at the local championship.

Liga Águila II

This Friday, July 10th, the Liga Águila II starts and with it, the hope of 20 clubs to achieve the second star of the season.

What changes in the format of Liga Águila II?

None. It is exactly the same as the Torneo Apertura 2015.

How many matchdays will be played?

26: 20 in the regular phase, 2 in the quarterfinals, 2 in the semifinals, and 2 in the final.

Until when can teams register players?

Until July 17, 2015.

How many players can be registered?

Clubs can register up to 25 players. Teams with international participation (Santa Fe, Tolima, Junior, and Águilas, who will compete in the Copa Sudamericana) can register five additional players.

When does the registration process open for free agents without contracts?

It is an eight-day period between August 14 and August 21 of the same month.

How many foreign players can clubs register?

Four, of which only three can be on the field during a game at the same time (remember 'Junior case').

With how many cumulative yellow cards is a player suspended?

A one-match automatic suspension will occur for the accumulation of five yellow cards, not three as was established in the Torneo Apertura.

When is the date of the derbies?

It corresponds to matchday 10 of the 'Todos contra Todos' and will be played on the weekend of September 6: Santa Fe-Millonarios, Chicó-Patriotas, Águilas-Once Caldas, Cali-Cortuluá, Envigado-Jaguares, Cúcuta-Alianza, Medellín-Nacional, Huila-Tolima, Pasto-Equidad, and Junior-Uniautónoma.

When does the regular phase end?

On Sunday, November 22, matchday 20 is played and 'Todos contra Todos' concludes.

How many teams qualify for the quarterfinals?

The top 8 teams in the table will contest the second phase of the championship.

How is the second part of the tournament played?

The 8 qualifying teams will form -by draw- the four quarterfinals that will then produce the four semifinalists and subsequently the two finalists. Here, home and away matches are played.

What are the dates for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final?

Quarterfinals: Sunday, November 26 (first leg) and Sunday, December 6 (second leg)
Semifinals: Wednesday, December 9 (first leg) and Sunday, December 13 (second leg)
Final: Wednesday, December 16 (first leg) and Sunday, December 20 (second leg)

Which teams will play, for Colombia, in the Copa Libertadores 2016?

The champion of the Apertura 2015 (Deportivo Cali), the champion of the Clausura 2015, and the best team in the Reclasificación table that does not have a spot in the Libertadores.

What happens if Deportivo Cali repeats the title in December?

Colombia's 2nd and 3rd spots in the Copa Libertadores 2016 will go to the two best clubs in the Reclasificación table, excluding Deportivo Cali.

What happens if a Colombian team wins the Copa Sudamericana 2015?

By disposition of CONMEBOL, that team (which could be Santa Fe, Junior, Tolima, or Águilas) will enter as 'Colombia 3' in the Copa Libertadores of 2016, taking away a spot from the Reclasificación.

Which teams will play in the Colombian Superliga of 2016?

In January, the champion of the Torneo Apertura 2015 (Deportivo Cali) and the champion of the Clausura 2015 will play, home and away. If Cali repeats the title, their opponent in the Superliga will be the best in the Reclasificación.

Until matchday 20 of the regular phase (Sunday, November 22). This table is only taken into account when the 20 teams in the league are competing. In other words, points obtained in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final are not included.

Can a club that is relegated to the B division and wins the Clausura Tournament 2015 play in the Copa Libertadores 2016?

No. According to the disposition of Dimayor, this spot will be given to the club that occupies the best position in the Reclasificación table 2015 without a spot in the Copa Libertadores.
