Real Madrid are set to close the contract renewal deals relating to both Dani Carvajal and Marcelo.
Carvajal’s contract will extend through to 2020, whilst the Brazilian defender will stay at the Bernabeu through to 2021. The club was anxious to secure the continuity of their right back and left back respectively. Varane another of Madrid’s key defensive players has a contract that runs through to 2020.
With a question mark hanging over Sergio Ramos’ future at the club and Pepe entering into the last year of his deal, the club wanted to tie down both defenders who were regulars in 2014-15 Real Madrid team.

His new deal will expire when the player is 27 years old. The player, a protegee of the Real Madrid youth system, saw how a move to Germany in 2012 and his convincing performances’ for Bayer Leverkusen ignited his career and he was quickly brought back by the LaLiga side.
Marcelo’s deal was to expire in June, 2018. His renewed deal will seem him remain as a Real Madrid player through to 2021 when the left back will be 33 years old. He moved to Real Madrid in 2007 from Brazilian side, Fluminense. If Ramos and Casillas leave the club over the forthcoming weeks, it’s anticipated that Marcelo or Cristiano will be given the captains armband.
