He was summoned this Monday along with the rest of the current squad to start the preseason, but Espanyol decided at the last minute to grant him permission —like Sergio Tejera and Carlos Clerc— so that he did not show up while waiting for his future to be resolved. Thievy Bifouma gains time, and avoids yet another fine for indiscipline, while the club avoids another scandal for now.

The problem is whether this kind of injunction will be sustainable. That is, if the situation will be resolved shortly. The forward's agent has assured the club that he has offers for him (Rayo Vallecano, Granada, Las Palmas and Deportivo, mainly), but no official propositions have arrived yet in Cornellà.
