The Juventus of Turin has confirmed this Monday the renewal of their coach, Massimiliano Allegri, until June 30, 2017, at the same time as they announced the contract extension of the player Claudio Marchisio until 2020.
"It is a well-deserved renewal, because Allegri's merits in the extraordinary 'bianconeri' harvest are many and obvious: the coach has been able to take over a team that was already strong and make it more lethal and aware of its strength, even giving it in Europe an authority that it had already acquired in Italy," Juventus said in the statement informing about the renewal.
"Allegri has gradually introduced his vision of football, adapting it to his players and teaching them to change their attitude towards the current position," added the press release, which recalled the titles conquered this season in Serie A and the Coppa.
The president of Juventus, Andrea Agnelli, praised the coach's contract extension. "Allegri is our guide; he has led an extraordinary season, giving shape to the team and a leap in quality," said the president.
Allegri will thus begin his second season in charge of Juventus, with which he also reached the last Champions League final; there he lost on June 6 against FC Barcelona (1-3) at the Olympiastadion in Berlin (Germany).
Marchisio, until 2020
On the other hand, the Italian team also reported the renewal of their midfielder Claudio Marchisio until June 2020, at a press conference held alongside the busy president of the club.
"Claudio is living a dream that every child would live. He entered Juve at the age of seven, spending all his youth here until reaching the first team, and also with the captain's armband. His is an almost unique path. Today he is already a legend: he is already in the museum and in the Olympus of the greatest of Juventus," commented Agnelli.
"Today is a beautiful day, full of emotions. Just like in 1993, when I showed up for the first training session," confessed an emotional Marchisio to the media.
"I want to keep winning with these teammates. It has never been easier to do it, now we have the right experience to transfer that determination to the newcomers," added the midfielder finally.
