The president of Deportivo Cali, Álvaro Martínez, stated: "we will not sell our players", at the same time, the team's coach, Fernando 'el Pecoso' Castro, indicated that the squad they will face this semester is not only focused on the Finalización, but also in the Copa Libertadores of 2016.

Therefore, the Verdiblancos' directors decided to extend the contract of the striker Harold Preciado until June 2018.

"There were offers but nothing concrete. I renewed for one more year with Cali and I am thinking about the team, about having an excellent semester, achieving a new star, and being the top scorer. I am not thinking about leaving," assured the 21-year-old forward, who celebrated 13 goals in 23 matches last semester, second only to the top scorer Fernando Uribe (15 goals with Millonarios).

Preciado, who was the top scorer with Jaguares de Córdoba in the Apertura del Torneo del Ascenso in 2014, also said that "this semester will be more difficult than the previous one," while trusting the group led by 'el Pecoso' Castro.

Cali thrashed Dépor

The Verdiblancos showed no mercy against the 'young team of Cali' on Sunday in a double friendly match at the Pance training center. The first group of Cali won 7-1, with goals from Miguel Murillo (3), Juan David Cabezas, Yerson Candelo, Harold Preciado, and Álvaro Varela.

And in the main match, the other group of Cali defeated Dépor 4-0. Santos Borré (2), Mateo Casierra, and John Pérez (penalty) scored the goals.

The captain of the Sugar Makers, Andrés Pérez, did not participate in the friendlies due to lacerations on his knees and hands sustained during training.

The victory lap

Deportivo Cali will make their debut in the Liga Águila on Sunday (7:30 p.m.) at the Palmaseca stadium against Jaguares de Córdoba. Prior to the match, the Sugar Makers plan to take a victory lap and celebrate the delayed championship title from the Apertura tournament.

Canchimbo stays

Left-back Harrison Canchimbo, who had been included in the transfer list and had options to go to América or return to Llaneros, will stay with Cali to play this season.
