As we all know, the division of brands within WWE is approaching, following the decision to broadcast SmackDown live and give it greater importance than in recent years.

Due to this situation, the company's top executives, in addition to promoting talent from NXT or hiring independent wrestlers, will have to elevate some Superstars in order to have representative and important wrestlers on both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown.

One of the Superstars that the company officials are considering giving a considerable push to is none other than Alberto del Rio.

However, there is an obstacle that could prevent this from happening, and it would be that Triple H is not a fan of Del Rio and does not want Vince McMahon to give him a major push, as we discussed last month.

Richard Gray, from Wrestling News World, gives us more details on this matter:

"With Alberto del Rio's contract expiring in October of this year, McMahon is worried that he will leave again if he is not given a more prominent position. A few weeks ago, this would not have been considered a big blow, but with the brand split, wrestlers like Del Rio have more influence in the company, as they now need twice as many top Superstars.

"The plan is to make him look strong leading up to the brand split, but Triple H is still against this idea. McMahon believes he can talk to someone who is about to leave and find a way to keep them in the company, although in recent years, his Midas touch has diminished."
