Mark Zuckerberg resigns from fight against Elon Musk

After it was revealed that Mark Zuckerberg was going to have a duel in the UFC octagon against Elon Musk, tensions ran high between the two, to the point of making it clear that this fight was going to happen, planning it since the month of June. At that time, the rumors reached such a point that it was planned to hold the fight at the Colosseum in Rome.

Despite the conversations that apparently the creator of Facebook had with contacts from the Italian government to hold this event, everything ended up being a flop, as it was recently confirmed that the confrontation will not take place. What is the reason? Here we tell you all the details.

Through his official Threads account, Meta's CEO announced today, August 13, that he will "change the subject" and resign from the fight he was going to have against Elon Musk. The main reason for the rejection would be that the business magnate would have taken this meeting lightly, as stated in his brief statement.

"I think we all agree that Elon is not serious and it's time to change the subject. I offered him a real date. Dana White (the head of the UFC martial arts organization) offered to make the fight a legitimate charity event," Zuckerberg began.

Finally, he pointed out that the SpaceX founder never intended to set an exact date, excusing himself with a medical procedure: "Elon did not confirm a date, then he said he needs surgery, and now he asks me to practice in my backyard," he emphasized.

Finally, he concluded his publication, issuing a clear warning to Musk, in case he wants to continue with this event: "If at any time Elon decides to get serious, he knows where to find me. I want to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously."

Elon Musk wants a debate and already a fight

On his part, Chris Anderson, head of the well-known TED conferences, responded to Mark Zuckerberg's post, proposing that away from the boxing ring they can have a debate to present their ideas in a discussion to build a future, something that Elon liked, who immediately replied to the comment.

"That also sounds like a good idea. This really is fighting as (I believe) a noble sport. We also hope, with humility, to express our admiration for those who have fought before for noble causes," he replied. How will this tussle end?
