Former UFC fighter and MMA icon Nate Diaz is considered one of the toughest and baddest fighters alive. The Stockton resident is known for having a tough chin capable of absorbing strikes and relentless cardio. While training plays a huge factor in his performance, Diaz believes his diet has an important part to play as well.
However, unlike many fighters, Diaz does not indulge in consuming meat. He is quite picky about his fuel and opts for a vegan diet to help better his performance. The former UFC fighter began by cutting meat out of his diet to help him with his weight cut. Once he was off meat and dairy he would feel great and easily started shedding the extra pounds.
Although Diaz has been called out for his diet by many fighters he believes the vegan lifestyle has helped him gain more energy. Nate managed to defeat Conor McGregor and many other big fighters while being vegan. The 38-year-old’s plant-based diet was also featured in a Netflix documentary called ‘The Game Changers.’
While veganism is becoming more popular among UFC fighters, Diaz has been one of the early fighters to adopt this lifestyle. He started his journey with veganism when he gave up meat at 18 years of age. Now the former BMF contender sticks to his plant based diet.
The Stockton resident will soon be making his boxing debut against Jake Paul on August 5 in Dallas, Texas. Like all the other times, Nate will enter the fight with his vegan nutrition and a lot of cannabis to defeat the Problem Child.
Does Nate Diaz eat eggs?
While Nate Diaz is widely known for his vegan lifestyle he did not start with a strict vegan diet at first. The MMA icon gave up meat during his training camps to help him with his weight cut. After his fights, Diaz used to indulge in meat but felt lazy and uncomfortable.
Due to this, he adopted the pescatarian diet after his fight camps and also consumed eggs and dairy. While Diaz occasionally consumed fish, eggs and dairy in the past he claims to have completely switched to a plant-based diet. The 38-year-old consistently follows a raw vegan diet and sticks to it during fight camps and after his fights.
UFC color commentator Joe Rogan who is a huge critic of the vegan diet has claimed that Nate is not vegan. However, Diaz currently follows the vegan lifestyle even though he loved eating meat. It suits his body the best and makes him feel more energetic.
Nate will soon fight Jake Paul in his boxing debut who is coming off a loss against Tommy Fury. Will Nate’s vegan diet help him with his performance against Jake? Let us know in the comments below.
