A few hours ago, Erik "Terrible" Morales announced through social media that his father passed away. José "Olivaritos" Morales was his trainer and led him to the top of the boxing world, but not only guided the career of his son Erik and Diego, but also that of other champions like Luis Ramón "Yori Boy" Campas, César Bazán, Jorge "Travieso" Arce and Antonio Margarito, to mention a few.

Undoubtedly, a great figure in Mexican boxing history, because based on his work, great boxers have represented Mexico around the world, showcasing what they learned from "Olivaritos".

The World Boxing Council and its president, Mauricio Sulaimán, received the sad news of the untimely death of former boxer and renowned trainer José "Olivaritos" Morales.

Morales Damián was born on December 3, 1955 in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. He lived in Tijuana since 1974. After a short professional career, he established his gym in Zona Centro and Zona Norte, shaping the path of fighters like Mauro "Betillo" Gutiérrez, Luis Ramón "Yori Boy" Campas, César Bazán, Jorge "Travieso" Arce, Antonio Margarito, Javier "Cobra" Mendoza, Jorge Páez Jr. and of course his sons Erik and Diego Morales, among many others.
