The director of sports of Granada, Juan Carlos Cordero, has announced that the club has requested the loan of Mexican forward Raúl Jiménez from Atlético Madrid, as well as acknowledging that they are also interested in the incorporation of Porto goalkeeper Andrés Fernández.
Cordero has stated in a press conference that Granada has already contacted "his agent and Atlético" so that Raúl Jiménez can be loaned to the Granada club, and has specified that "the player also knows it."
The Granada executive is aware that "they may have to wait until Simeone decides" about the future of the Mexican striker in the final part of the preseason, but has said that in the Andalusian entity they have "patience" and trust that the operation can be completed.
Cordero has also confirmed that the club is interested in the incorporation of Porto goalkeeper Andrés Fernández, currently at Porto, a goalkeeper of "a high level" and who Granada has been following "for several seasons." "The player is from Porto and will join his team's training, but we have spoken with his agent and we are waiting," explained the sports director of Granada.
Regarding the possible departure of Moroccan forward Youssef El Arabi from the club, he has pointed out that "teams call and ask about him, but all the offers received so far are low," so he has assured that the player will start the preseason with his teammates next week.
He has also referred to the future of Cameroonian full-back Allan Nyom, who has played the last six seasons at Granada, and has admitted that "he is a Udinese player and wants to leave," so "the idea is that he will not be loaned to Granada again."
In this regard, Cordero has advanced that "one of the options available is for him to go to Watford," an English team also controlled by the Pozzo family.
After the signing of Gabonese center-back Yrondu Musavu-King, the Granada executive has commented that they are now looking for "another experienced player to improve the back line," although he has pointed out that "in the market, everything goes slowly" but "as soon as the teams above make a transfer, everything else will run."
