Feels at home. Argentina has won the last four Copa Americas that have been played in Chile. And, it has also won seven out of the 14 official selection tournaments it has played in Chilean territory.

It has been 89 years since Argentina could not lift a Copa America in Chile. It was in 1926, when Uruguay became champion, relegating the albiceleste to second place. The same thing happened in 1920, when the South American Championship was held in Viña del Mar.

Then Argentina was the champion in 1941, 1945, 1955 (defeating Chile in the last match of the tournament) and 1991. In addition, it won the ODESUR Games in 1986, the U-20 South American Championship in 1997, and the U-23 Pre-Olympic tournament in 2004. Participated in only two championships played in Chile: Pan American Games 1952 and FIFA U-20 World Cup 1987.

The second team that has won the most championships in Chile is Brazil, with four trophies: Pan American Games 1952, FIFA World Cup 1962, U-20 South American Championship 1974, and U-17 South American Championship 2009.

Chile has not been able to win any of the 16 official selection tournaments it has organized. It was the runner-up on two occasions: Pan American Games 1952 and Copa America 1955. Next Saturday it will have a new chance to become the champion.
