With the renaissance of the WWE Women's World Championship, and the progress of wrestlers like Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Paige, and Becky Lynch, all from the NXT developmental territory, the WWE women's division has made a 360-degree turn, going from being mere ornaments to doing it all in the ring. Now the gladiators are given longer matches and more focus than they did before.
Recently Becky Lynch was interviewed by The Norfolk Navy Flagship. Here is a highlight of the conversation:
Her next goal in the women's wrestling revolution:
“We want to main event WrestleMania. We want to main event every PPV, if possible. The next step is to have the former NXT Women's Champion, Bayley, here to have that quartet“.
Women should compete in special matches like TLC:
“Oh, absolutely. I see no reason why they shouldn't. At the moment, I don't think they are necessary because I think we are holding our own without any extra“.
The wrestlers like Finn Balor and Paige who have also come to WWE:
“It's incredible the number of people I can name that I came across. We were in Italy and I remember that ten years ago Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and I were in an arena with a capacity of 5000 people, but there were only like 100 people. Now with WWE I went back to the same place and the tickets were sold out. It's crazy how far we have come. And it's also impressive to have met people along the way and still be together over time“.
