Atlético awaits Rodrigo Caio's Italian passport to sign him

The signing of Rodrigo Caio is pending the player obtaining an Italian passport that would allow him to not occupy a non-EU player spot in Atlético. At the moment, the team already has Giménez, Jackson, and Correa occupying those spots. In addition, negotiations are underway with Gaitán, who also occupies a non-EU player spot. Correa could leave on loan this season, however, the other two players are fundamental pillars of Atlético's new project.

Caio is immersed in the paperwork that will allow him to obtain an Italian passport. He will soon acquire it and immediately become the next player for Atlético. The plan devised in the Calderón offices is that the midfielder will arrive on loan for one season with an option to buy. If he convinces next year, Atlético will execute the transfer.

From Portugal, it was suggested that the Brazilian player could be part of the Gaitán operation, but Atlético understands that the footballer needs confidence and they will give it to him. Therefore, Rodrigo Caio will play at the Calderón next season.
