The first signing of the Sandoval era is Edgar Méndez

Edgar Méndez, a 24-year-old footballer from UD Almería, has agreed to join Granada for the next four seasons. In his debut season in the First Division, he scored four goals and played in 30 matches, becoming one of the breakthrough players at Almería, which eventually got relegated. Before joining Granada, the player from Tenerife has had stints at Real Madrid, Atlético Ciudad, Betis B, Melilla, Almería B, Real Jaén, and Tenerife - the last two in the Second Division - before making it to Almería's first team last season, where he earned his place in the league.

The new red and white attacker possesses great power and also stands out for his speed and height (1.88m), making him a difficult player to defend, especially when he's running. Edgar Méndez will be presented on Thursday morning in the anteroom of Los Cármenes, an event that will surely be attended by Juan Carlos Cordero, the sports director and right-hand man of the president.
