A new and anticipated fight added to the Extreme Rules card

A new and anticipated fight has been added to the Extreme Rules card, which will take place on May 22nd at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. There, The Miz will have to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn.

The controversy has been resolved

And although this fight seemed destined to happen since Payback, its determination was not as easy as it seems. On the night of today, May 9th, on Monday Night Raw, The Miz, Cesaro, and Kevin Owens approached Shane and Stephanie McMahon to resolve the controversial title issue that had been ongoing since the PPV. The McMahons ordered a triple threat for Extreme Rules, but Sami Zayn did not agree.

The "heart of NXT" accepted that he had been defeated at Payback, but in exchange, he asked to be allowed to win his opportunity by facing The Miz, something that Stephanie and Shane agreed to.

As expected, the Canadian defeated the champion, earning his place in the fight for the Intercontinental title, but the changes did not stop there.

Kevin Owens once again came to complain to Shane McMahon and there he found Zack Ryder, who presented his own arguments to explain his right to a title opportunity. Shane agreed and ordered them to fight in a match where only the winner would participate in the Fatal 4-Way.

Unfortunately for Ryder, and despite his good performance, K.O. maintained his place and ended his dreams of regaining the Intercontinental Championship.

Now, with this added fight, the Extreme Rules card is currently as follows:

  1. Extreme Rules match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs AJ Styles
  2. Submission match for the WWE Women's Championship: Charlotte (c) vs Natalya - Ric Flair is banned
  3. Fatal 4-Way match for the Intercontinental Championship: The Miz (c) (with Maryse) vs Cesaro vs Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn
  4. WWE Tag Team Championship: The New Day (c) vs The Vaudevillains
  5. United States Championship: Kalisto (c) vs Rusev (with Lana)

What do you think? Who will leave Extreme Rules as Intercontinental Champion?
