As we reported yesterday, Ryback was removed from the WWE card due to contractual reasons. Although the 'Big Guy' was at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri for Monday Night Raw, he was sent home.
Although it was thought that Ryback himself decided to leave after arguing with executives, Dave Meltzer, on Wrestling Observer Radio, revealed further information.
Meltzer revealed that Ryback met directly with Vince McMahon to negotiate, but the wrestler did not like the offer for his new contract, which led to a brief discussion that ended when McMahon told the big guy that he may need to take some time off. Ryback, still upset, agreed to leave.
Meltzer believes that unless Ryback accepts the offer, we may not see him in a WWE ring again.
Although Ryback's contract does not expire until the summer, it is most likely that WWE will decide not to use the wrestler if he does not renew the contract, as keeping him off TV would theoretically decrease his value if he later wanted to sign with New Japan or TNA.
That would be the same reason why Wade Barrett was kicked out of the League of Nations and taken off the programming. Barrett will continue to receive his WWE paycheck while he finishes his contract, but he will no longer be used unless he decides to renew.
