Last Friday, in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz, the first two qualifiers took place to obtain finalists for the Lucha Libre Victoria World Cup, the tournament that confronts representatives from Mexico, United States, Japan and the rest of the world competing for supremacy and the highest honor for their respective countries. This is the second edition of an unprecedented world championship in the history of this sport, which will take place in Puebla, Puebla, and Mexico City on June 3 and 5 respectively.
In the qualifiers presented by AAA in Xalapa, it was highlighted that, in group 1, the members of Los Perros del Mal (Daga, Pentagón Jr., and Joe Líder) faced each other, giving a sensational contest in which Pentagón finally emerged victorious, in a match called Cero Miedo of professional wrestling, which for the first time will be present in the competition:
"It is very important for my career to reach the Lucha Libre Victoria World Cup, an international event where the best participate, and represent not only my company but also my country, Mexico. It is a difficult task because of the quality of the opponents, but people can be assured that we will be there demonstrating what Mexican wrestlers are made of, that we have the level to be considered the best in the world," said the dark rudo wrestler.
As for group 2, it was the Megachampion of AAA, Texano Jr., the man who managed to prevail in the match, earning a spot in the World Cup as part of the national team that AAA Worldwide will contribute.
Moments after obtaining the passage by defeating Taurus and Garza Jr., the reigning champion said: "Precisely tonight I have been talking about the pride we feel of being Mexicans and representing my country against Americans like Brian Cage and El Mesías, who come to Mexico to humiliate us with their nonsense and Donald Trump-like speeches, and now this opportunity to represent my people in the Lucha Libre Victoria World Cup is achieved. I know it is a very important challenge in my career and I can tell you that it is not easy due to the quality of everyone who participates, both national and foreign, but I am going to prepare myself thoroughly so that my team obtains the victory, regardless that we still need to know the third member in Orizaba," said Texano Jr., who today is one of the top national defenders in professional wrestling, so much so that in Xalapa he issued an open challenge to any American who wants to compete for the AAA Megachampionship.
