The kickoff of Payback saw Ryback give the best fight of his career with the help of Kalisto, in a second consecutive unsuccessful encounter to capture the United States Championship, but perhaps for the passionate fans of Chicago the most important thing was the taunts he made of one of their beloved compatriots, CM Punk.
During his entrance, Ryback set aside his traditional "Feed Me More" and his "It's Feeding Time" and replaced them with the very particular gestures that CM Punk used to make when he entered a wrestling ring, "touching the ground" of the floor and then, pointing to an imaginary clock, shouting "It's clobbering time".
Ryback hates CM Punk, CM Punk hates Ryback and Chicago loves CM Punk, therefore Chicago hates Ryback, and that was clear from the thunderous boos that the Big Guy received after his mockery. Of course, nothing could be better received by a heel.
But if Ryback is accused of anything, it is definitely not lack of humor, because another detail that was less noticed in his Payback performance was that his attire itself was a joke and an explicit statement of his current position on the card. Basically, if Shawn Michaels is the "Showstopper", Ryback is the "Pre-showstopper".
What do you think? Did you like what Ryback did in front of the Chicago crowd?
