"What's going on with you, girls? Why so quiet?" Three weeks ago, Valentina Shevchenko called on her potential opponents to step up and fight her. The current UFC flyweight champion wanted to get back in the octagon, but no one was willing to be her rival. Until someone dared: Alexa Grasso.
On March 4th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Valentina Shevchenko (23-3 MMA, 12-2 UFC) will defend her flyweight title against Mexican fighter Alexa Grasso (15-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC). The fight is part of the UFC 285 main card.
'Bullet' Shevchenko has won nine straight fights, including a victory over Brazilian fighter Taila Santos in June 2022. Since retaining her title by split decision, Valentina has not stepped into the octagon. That means the Kyrgyzstan-born, Peruvian-nationalized fighter will return to the octagon after nine months.
