Jonathan Maicelo
had a great career in professional boxing and stepped on the world's biggest stages. Leading his sports career, he decided to venture into a restaurant (Maicelo RestoBar) and a training center (Fighter Fit). However, he has continued to practice the sport he loves and a few months ago he had an exhibition fight.
After several years promoting sports and helping young athletes from Callao, the regional governor of Callao, Ciro Castillo, announced that Maicelo is joining his team in the Sports area. "The chalaco professional boxer Jonathan Maicelo joins the team that will support us in promoting sports in the Callao region. The athlete was received by the governor, Ciro Castillo Rojo, in order to coordinate actions to promote the professional boxer internationally and make the port competitive again in this discipline," he said.

Afterwards, the chalaco athlete thanked for being chosen for the position. "I represented Peru and especially Callao in various international tournaments, but I was never recognized in my own land (where they worked with ex-soccer players who were not even from Sport Boys or lived in Callao). This is my moment to show my experience for the sport in Callao," he said.
How did the enmity between Maicelo and 'Pantera' Zegarra arise?
Although their enmity gained notoriety a few years ago when Maicelo slapped 'Pantera' in 2017, the truth is that they had been exchanging challenging messages for over a decade. "I just want to beat him and go to the United States," said Maicelo about Zegarra in November 2012.
According to 'Pantera' Zegarra, the enmity was born because of Maicelo's attitude. "Because of his behavior, there has always been that dislike, that anger. He was the model, the star of the team," he said on a television program, a few years ago.
