About the Fight

Jose "Chon" Zepeda was in one of the fights at Juan de la Barrera, where he faced Pedro Navarrete. What seemed like an uncomplicated fight for Zepeda unnecessarily went into overtime against a boxer who was not technically better, but who showed more preparedness in terms of resistance to the fight ending early.

Zepeda Navarrete

One by one, Zepeda won the majority of the rounds, but he fell into unnecessary exchanges and cornered himself against the ropes, which he should not have done simply because he was the one with the technique in the ring.

In the tenth round, with his face slightly marked and with the fight won with difficulty, Zepeda managed to knock Navarrete down. It was a resounding fall from which Pedro got up, but he did not continue the fight because as soon as the referee signaled to restart the actions, the round and the contest ended, and Zepeda was declared the winner.
