Chile reaches the Copa America final
After the hard-fought victory against Peru in the semifinals of the Copa America, Jorge Valdivia was one of the players who analyzed Chile's progress to the final stage.
"This Copa America has been characterized as very difficult. The difference between us and other teams is that we have made few mistakes and when we do, we analyze them and try to improve," said the midfielder.
It was no secret that Sampaoli's team played their worst game of the tournament. Valdivia knows it too: "We won, we are happy, and tomorrow we will analyze our mistakes, where we should have been more incisive, but without taking away the merit that we are in a final," he said.
Regarding the difficulty that Chile faced in reaching the final, the former Colo Colo player stated, "It is the routine of Copa America matches, I don't think the pressure, intensity, or difficulty should be different in a semifinal."
The opponent? "We knew Peru was coming in strong, with very skillful players from midfield to attack, and that was the tone of the game."
Finally, when asked about the preferred opponent for the Copa America final, the Palmeiras midfielder said that the Paraguay - Argentina match "will be a difficult game between them, like the others were. We'll see, but it doesn't matter, we know both teams are tough."
