Juan Carlos Navarro won’t participate in the 2015 Eurobasket competition. Mundo Deportivo report that the Barcelona captain ended the season carrying injuries (he missed the last two games of the play-off final against Real Madrid) and as a result has ruled himself out of the 2015 Eurobasket which starts on September 5th. The Spanish Basketball Federation will announce the definitive squad for the tournament tomorrow at 1230.
Barça have denied rumors that Navarro was operated on in Vitoria. The remedy needed for his fascia plantar problem doesn’t require surgery but is a slow healing process that requires rest and rehabilitation.
Coach, Sergio Scariolo, will also be missing Ricky Rubio and José Manuel Calderón, both injured. Spain find themselves in Group B, ‘the group of death’ alongside Italy, Germany, Iceland, Turkey and runners up in last year’s 2014 FIBA World Cup, Serbia.
