After weeks of waiting for this event, NXT finally aired the first appearance of Shinsuke Nakamura on today's edition, March 16th. And even though he didn't appear live, the Japanese superstar managed to thrill the audience from a distance.
In the first segment of the night, Sami Zayn arrived in the ring to show his disappointment for being defeated by Samoa Joe last week and therefore not having a match for NXT TakeOver: Dallas. The Canadian was interrupted by William Regal, NXT's general manager, who decided to reward Sami's hard work in growing the brand with a dream match against NXT's biggest signing.
Shinsuke Nakamura made his first appearance on screen with a homemade video that, although lacking in terms of quality, made the audience explode with excitement, unable to believe that the NJPW's biggest star was about to arrive in NXT.
It's important to remember that when this happened, Nakamura's signing with WWE was still just a rumor. In fact, at the time of these recordings, Nakamura had not yet signed his contract or received his medical results, which explains the great surprise of the fans at Full Sail University.
With this, a dream match is arranged between two of the best wrestlers, not only in WWE and NXT, but in the whole world. A match that will also be Sami Zayn's farewell, as he has definitively arrived in the main roster and will possibly say goodbye in Dallas to the brand he helped grow.
