Samu Castillejo, the new football player for Villarreal Club de Fútbol, has reflected on the qualities he can bring to his new team and highlighted that speed is one of the virtues that can improve the style of play practiced by the Castellon entity.
"I hope to bring my speed. I am a player characterized by movement and dribbling. Villarreal is a team that likes to have good ball possession and a quick transition. And I am a football player with those characteristics," reflected the new 'groguet' signing, coming from Málaga along with Samu García, in statements to 'Villarreal CF TV'.
About his new club, he highlighted the facilities of the Ciudad Deportiva and admitted that he has not been able to talk to Marcelino García Toral about the plans he has for this season. "I haven't had the opportunity to speak with the coach, but I have heard very good things about him. I have come to play and that is my first goal," he said.
In addition, he recognized that his signing for Villarreal, something he considers a "challenge" in his career, is the confirmation of the interest that the club has shown in him over the past few years. "I know for a fact that they have been following me for a long time. The opportunity to be part of this family has arisen. It is another challenge in my career and hopefully it turns out for the best," he said.
Regarding expectations, the Catalan footballer admitted that winning the Europa League is what generates the most excitement. "We will fight until the end in the three competitions and we will fight to finish as high as possible. And also for that Europa League that excites the fans so much," he concluded.
