A triumphant return to the boxing ring for Rocío Gaspar
In a happy night for Peruvian boxing, Rocío Gaspar defeated Ecuadorian Esthefany 'Centinela' Alvarado in a closely contested fight held at the El Cancherín de Jicamarca sports complex in Huarochirí, which was packed with spectators.
The fight was tough for Rocío, but she came out victorious with a unanimous decision. "It was a great emotion to step into the ring again after five long years. I stepped away because I promised my mom that I would study and complete my university career, and I graduated two weeks ago: I am now a bachelor in Sports Science," she explained.
"I want to thank Inmobiliaria Urbana Perú, who didn't hesitate to support this challenging career. It's good to debut with a victory in the light minimum category, and we're going all out in search of the Latin title," said the Peruvian boxer.
