Cristiano Ronaldo returned to speak for the third time in a month. The Portuguese star is back talking publicly after declaring that he would avoid the press on February 7, following Madrid's 4-0 defeat against Atlético and the wound produced by the birthday party he held on the same night.
This last time was in the Portuguese newspaper A Bola and he said that he is very happy at Real Madrid: "I've not talked to anyone from the press for some time; I've made an exception now for A Bola to reassert that stories [that have been published] are absolutely false and are aimed only at creating conflicts between Real Madrid and me. I'm very happy at the club and very focused and have faith in a new season full of success. I repeat again that I'm at the best club in the world and at the best club in the word I want to get back to winning. I would sincerely like the false reports to stop and to be left a little in peace. Real Madrid and I are fine with each other."
It is telling that this is the third time Ronaldo has spoken in less than a month. The first time and the last were to stop rumors surrounding his professional and private life. One June 5, he broke his silence during a holiday in Saint Tropez. He put a video on Twitter with a message of thanks to his fans and an attack on the press: "Thanks for supporting me this year. It has been a difficult year, but you have always been there...I never talk about my private life but I want to take this opportunity to say that in recent weeks the press has tried to speak badly of me. Leave me alone!"
The second time, on June 13, was different. After scoring a hat-trick against Armenia he put another message on Twitter thanking the support both he and the Portuguese national team received in their qualifying matches for Euro 2016 in France.
He continues his holidays in Miami
Cristiano gave his latest comments during a holiday in Miami. The Portuguese star started his holidays in the first week of June in Saint Tropez. He then went to join-up with the national squad to play in the Euro 2016 qualifying match against Armenia. Fernando Santos, the Portugal coach, allowed him to leave the Portugal camp ahead of a friendly match against Italy. Since then, he has enjoyed holidays in the Bahamas and the United States. He will join up with the Madrid squad for pre-season training on July 10 before off to Australia and China for summer tours.
