Yevhen Konoplianka, initially courted by Sevilla, could be set for a move to Atlético Madrid.
The 25-year-old, who joined Dnipro at just 16, is out of contract with the Ukranian club and is currently attracting attention from a host of outfits around Europe.
The Andalusian club virtually ruled out a move for the player a few days ago: “The options for signing Konoplyanka have not diminished, but we had set a deadline and that has now finished. In that time Konoplyanka did not arrive, so we’re looking at other players,” Sevilla's sporting director, Monchi, said.
Tottenham have also been linked to a possible move, with reports in certain corners of the press claiming Konoplyanka was in England to undergo a medical. However, after the Ukranian was spotted in Madrid the Rojiblanco rumours started to swirl around his future, with some saying he will be brought in to fill the gap left by Arda Turan, who recently submitted his transfer request to Atlético.
