Welcome once again to this column that seeks to present the three most outstanding fighters of the week and the best fight of the last seven days. This was the last week before Fastlane and all rivalries reached their maximum point of tension, as what happens now will be decisive for WrestleMania. In addition, we have a new champion.
Let's see who were the protagonists of this week in WWE:
3- AJ Styles: The Phenomenal One continues to make an impact in WWE. Not only did he defeat The Miz again, but he offered the opportunity for a third encounter with Chris Jericho, who has been his great rival since his debut, about a month ago. Y2J's refusal on SmackDown didn't stop AJ, who forced the legendary fighter to give him the awaited yes with punches.
2- Kevin Owens: Out of nowhere, Kevin Owens became the Intercontinental Champion for the second time, just a year after winning the NXT Championship. And he didn't do it in any way, but in an interesting match where he clashed with four of the best fighters on the current roster. However, his new title didn't end his rivalry with Dolph Ziggler, but led him to a first defense against the blond at Fastlane.
1- Brock Lesnar: After 12 years of absence, Brock Lesnar returned to SmackDown and did so causing an impact, taking advantage of the cracks opened by his advisor Paul Heyman on Raw and generating more breaks between Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, leaving him as the only man standing at the closing before his triple threat at Fastlane. Could his face-to-face with Triple H be a harbinger of the WrestleMania main event?
Fight of the week: Out of nowhere, the Fatal 5-Way was the best encounter of the week. Not only is it a format rarely seen in WWE, but it featured five of the best talents currently in the company. Each one managed to showcase themselves, as most of the fight was a series of different one-on-one matches and we had several good spots, in addition to a new Intercontinental Champion.
