Cris Cyborg has moved to the 145-pound division in Invicta FC. The Brazilian has won five consecutive fights capturing the division title along the way.
The possibility of her going to UFC is in doubt now that her nemesis Ronda Rousey lost the bantamweight championship to the new titleholder Holly Holm. No one in Zuffa wants to mess with that hierarchy, according to manager George Prajin:
"Our only hope is a Hail Mary -… A highly unlikely event is the value of seeing Holly Holm vs Cris Cyborg in a agreed weight fight. That way they have a division to protect. If Holly fights Cris on the UFC 200 card and loses, her value as a champion is diminished. I'm sure they don't want to do that. We still feel that Cris is the only money fight out there for Holly, besides a rematch with Rousey. If Holly defeats Miesha Tate at UFC 196 on March 5th and then Ronda decides she doesn't want to fight or she loses to Holly again, the only fight that would make sense for Holly would be Cris. But I understand the UFC's position at the moment. You can't tell them how to run their business."
