The Cuban boxer Guillermo Rigondeaux (16-0, 10 KO) will face the English boxer James Dickens (21-1, 6 KO) on March 12th at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, Merseyside. The fight was added to the card that will have Flannagan vs. Matthews as the main event.

Frank Warren, the promoter, also reported it on his official twitter account:

Dickens expressed his thoughts about the opportunity to face someone like Rigondeaux:

"It's like a Rocky story, a normal day training for my next fight and I receive the call. Do you want to fight Guillermo Rigondeaux? Are you crazy, one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world wants to fight me? Without thinking twice, I'll take the fight.

"Opportunities like these don't come every day, so I grabbed it with both hands. It has been my dream since childhood to be the best in the world and this is the golden opportunity to beat Rigondeaux.

"He may no longer have the belts, but in my eyes he is still the world champion. Frampton and Quigg didn't want to face him, but what they see as a threat, I see as an opportunity. We all have weaknesses and Rigondeaux will have his, it's my job to go out there and take advantage of them to beat him."

"El Chacal" is a boxer who doesn't entertain much as he spends twelve rounds boxing and that doesn't appeal to many fans. He was highly criticized in his last fight against Drian Francisco, a fight he won by unanimous decision. The fight was labeled as boring and slow not only by fans but also by boxing commentators and promoters.

As the rounds went by, you could clearly hear the boos from those who attended the event where the fight took place.

Rigondeaux said he fought like that because he hadn't fought in a long time and he had to get rid of all the rust he had. In an interview after the fight, he said that his next fight will be more entertaining and promised a knockout.

On the other hand, his opponent is coming off a win against Martin Ward by split decision on November 20th, 2015.
