Both national teams arrived in Chile without any weight of expectation on their shoulders and Bolivia and Peru find themselves fighting for a place in the semi-final of the 2015 Copa America. This achievement is particularly gratifying for the Bolivian national team who has recovered some of the stigma that they lost over previous World Cup qualifying campaigns.
For Peru, the ambition and aspirations are the same. National coach, Gareca has turned the Andean team into an organized, balanced and focused side. It was less of a surprise to see Peru make iit out from what was possibly the trickiest group on the tournament. Repeating the third place as they did in Argentina in the 2011 competition was the objective from the outset. The good news for Peru is the return of Farfán, who has recovered from an adverse allergic reaction but Gareca will be without the suspended, Ballón and Lobatón, both players were pivotal in the central midfield for Peru in the qualifying round.
