Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor, the star of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), was knocked out by American Dustin Poirier in the second round of their UFC fight. It was the Irishman's first knockout defeat.
The American surprised 'The Notorious' with a leg kick, followed by a flurry of punches that made him fall, before the referee ended the fight, after 2 minutes and 32 seconds of the second round.
"It's tough to be inactive for so long," said 32-year-old Conor McGregor, in what was his third fight in over four years.
"High is high and low is low in this game, my leg is completely dead. Even though I felt I was blocking his kicks, it was mostly in the front of the leg. It was very badly compromised, it looks like an American football at this point," added the former UFC champion.
Confirming Conor McGregor's statement, a video appeared on social media showing the painful aftermath suffered by the fighter after the knockout inflicted by American Dustin Poirier.
