For better or for worse, recent WrestleManias have been events where the main spots have been given to gladiators who do not wrestle full-time with WWE, such as The Rock, The Undertaker, and Brock Lesnar.

While it makes sense for stars of that caliber to be used in a WrestleMania, the fact that it will not be the case next year takes away some force from the event, as we can see in comments made by fans both in SÚPER LUCHAS and on social media.

For WrestleMania 32, it was expected that Stone Cold Steve Austin could have a retirement match, but when it became evident that it would not be possible, the strongest among those considered was The Rock. And also, even though UFC did not seem willing to allow it, WWE had hopes that Ronda Rousey could have an encounter.

We have already announced that Rousey will not be able to participate due to the filming of a movie; similar case to The Rock's, as the film's insurance company does not want him to wrestle due to the risk of injury.

Dave Meltzer, in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer newsletter, elaborated on The Rock:

"Dwayne Johnson will be filming the movie Baywatch during March and April in Savannah, Georgia. There was a conflict with an insurance company regarding a movie he would film, which could be this one, as it would not cover injuries if he had a match at WrestleMania, and that was the reason his match with Triple H, which was originally planned, was canceled, putting in its place the match between Triple H and Seth Rollins, which also fell through.

"At the moment, there are hopes that he can appear as he has done in recent years, doing some kind of interview segment during the show, although several weeks ago we were told that was also highly unlikely, but not impossible, because he would be filming a movie in which he will share starring credits with Zac Efron.

"It would be very difficult to pause the filming of a movie, even for one day, to allow him to do Mania. That was the last thing we heard. The situation is similar to that of Ronda Rousey, who will be filming in Indonesia during those days."
