According to UFC president Dana White, the rematch between Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey probably won't happen in the near future, but when it does, it will be "impressive."
White appeared on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast to discuss a potential rematch of the fight that took place on November 14th at UFC 193, which saw Holm defeat Rousey in Melbourne, Australia.
Unlike many who believe that this defeat will be Rousey's downfall, White disagrees. He insists that she will come back stronger than ever.
"She is the mentally strongest athlete I've ever met in my life. When she returns after this defeat, it's going to be wild. She is a maniac and a hard worker when she was the best in the world. What will she be like now that she has lost?"
Dana also revealed that he will probably meet with "Rowdy" next week, but he won't discuss the fight unless she brings it up.
"If she does, that's good. If she wants to talk, we can talk. But I won't bring it up with her. I'll give her a month."
Another important factor that will make a rematch between the two ladies even more desirable is the fact that Holm has proven that she can achieve the unthinkable.
"What makes this fight big again is Holly Holm. Now everyone knows how talented she is, and that Holly Holm is reliable and a warrior, too. These two will take the next few months, start working, and clash again. And this second fight will be incredible."
