UFC 193: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Valerie Letourneau

And the co-main event arrived, the women's, the championships, the final stretch of UFC 193.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk would defend her Strawweight Title for the second time against Valerie Letourneau, in the lead-up to the fight between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm.

Letourneau was the disadvantaged opponent, but she put effort into the fight and although she didn't win, she managed to take the fight to the end, something that hadn't happened to Jedrzejczyk for a while, as her fights against Carla Esparza and then against Jessica Penne lasted very little.

However, Valerie managed to put the champion in trouble by pressuring her against the cage, trapping her leg or catching her arms to prevent her from having mobility, because the Polish with a little space becomes a very dangerous contender for anyone.

And Valerie had a hard time every time she separated from Joanna, because among the most notable blows she received, a kick to the face that disfigured her face momentarily (if you don't believe it, check the slow motion) and almost cost her the fight, if not that she responded with reflexes and got out of Joanna's range of attack.

On the other hand, the champion had to show what she was capable of when the fight is extended, as accustomed to knockouts, she hasn't always been able to show everything she did today: good reflexes, good waist movement, good blows and bravery to take one and throw two.

Valerie showed heart, but it wasn't enough to defeat Joanna and it showed with the passing of the rounds, because as the fight went on, she seemed more resentful with the blows and didn't fall due to her great resistance.

Finally, the fight leaned towards the side of the still champion, who filled the tank until the end of the fight, with two scores of 49-46 and one of 50-45, to remain as the strawweight monarch.
