Talking About Twitter, #TATGranada15: The Largest Exclusive Forum on Twitter

The third edition of Talking About Twitter, #TATGranada15, the largest forum of experts exclusively dedicated to this social network, starts today, Monday, at the Parque de las Ciencias in Granada. Over the course of two days, more than 30 professionals from communication, politics, sports, and entertainment will give presentations.

The inaugural conference will be given by Twitter CEO, Dick Costolo, who will be visiting Spain for the first time for this event.

Costolo, who recently announced that he will step down from his position on July 1, is one of the most influential figures in the world of new technologies. Under his leadership, Twitter has tripled its size and quadrupled its number of users, currently exceeding 288 million worldwide, according to TATGranada.

TATGranada analyzes four major blocks, featuring exceptional speakers:

The first block is dedicated to HIV: 'Mapping social debate, share of voice and influence in Twitter: An analysis of HIV twittersphere'.

'Mapping on Twitter: social debates, reach and influence: Analysis of HIV on Twitter.' It features experts such as Alejandro Romero Gallego, CEO of Alto Social Analytics, Miguel Castro, Strategic Partnerships, Senior Officer of Communications - Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

This block analyzes the presence of HIV on social media, based on the analysis of social debate and Twitter's influence on the spread of scientific advancements and strategies against the AIDS pandemic.

The second block: 'Tweets and politics. Risk zones.'

It will feature the spokesperson for the PSOE in the Congress of Deputies, Antonio Hernando, and the president of the PP in Andalusia, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, along with Fernando Jáuregui, Journalist and writer. Editor of the Diariocritico Group.

A block dedicated to sports on Twitter

It features two interesting presentations: 'La Roja on Twitter' which will be given by Marco Rocha, Digital Communication Director of the RFEF, where the communication model of the Spanish National Team on @sefutbol will be presented. And 'Faster than a Tweet', by athlete Chema Martínez.

Sports journalism on Twitter will have a discussion panel in which Tomás Roncero, Head Writer of the Real Madrid section of @diarioas, Antoni Daimiel, NBA Commentator on Canal +, Mónica Marchante, Journalist of Canal +, and Pedro Pablo San Martín, Deputy Director of AS, will participate.

A third media block: 'Social television on the table',

It will analyze the El Terrat case, a television content production company such as En el Aire and Salvados, and will feature Mia Font, Head of Web and Content on Social Networks at El Terrat, Daniel Picas, Head of Offline and Online Communication of Salvados, Bob Pop, Collaborator and Live Social Media Facilitator on En el Aire, Marta Libertad, Shadow Community Manager of En el Aire, and Miguel de la Fuente, Community Manager of Divendres (TV3).

The Solidarity Block: #AporELA.

Our Deputy Director of AS TV Javier G. Matallanas and his brother Carlos G. Matallanas, former footballer and sports journalist at El Confidencial, will explain the work carried out on the social network to raise funds for the Research and Fight Against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In just one year, using their prestige and professional contacts, and using the hashtag #AporELA, they have managed to raise awareness about this incurable disease and mobilize society and national and international organizations to research its causes and find a possible treatment.

The speakers will be Carlos G. Matallanas (whose brother Gonzalo will read his speech) and Javier G. Matallanas. After their presentations, an open panel will address questions and contributions from Twitter users live.

Other interesting presentations:

The General Director of Twitter in Spain, Pepe López de Ayala, representatives of the Movistar Team cycling team, and the Communications Director of Coca Cola, Leticia Iglesias, among others, will also participate. Another star presentation will be given by the Venezuelan journalist Nelson Bocaranda, who has two million followers on this social network.

In the last edition, the inaugural conference was given by Twitter's Chief Data Scientist, Deb Roy. Other participants included the current Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, and the Popular Party candidate for the Community of Madrid, Cristina Cifuentes; journalists Gervasio Sánchez, Jon Sistiaga, and Yoani Sánchez; the tweeting nun Sister Lucía Caram; @policia; the Digital Strategy Director of Mediaset, Ana Bueno; and the Content Director of Atresmedia Digital, Paco Sierra.
