The president of Villarreal CF, Fernando Roig, has confirmed the sale of Luciano Vietto to Atlético Madrid and the loan arrival of Leo Baptistao from the Calderón. Roig also said Javier Aquino has agreed terms to join Mexican club Tigres.
At the same time, Roig said that Villarreal are working towards a loan deal to bring Belgian winger Massimo Bruno to El Madrigal from Red Bull Salzburg "but it has not been finalized yet. He is a player that we are interested in taking on loan and we're working towards that. He's a great player and we'll see if we can confirm him on loan."
"We have finalized the sale of Vietto and Javier Aquino, to which we have to add the departure of Uche a few days ago," Roig stated, adding that the Argentinean striker had been "sold to Atlético Madrid."
"In terms of signings we have acquired Samuel García and Samu Castillejo, as well as the loan signing of Alphonse Areola and the loan of Leo Baptistao, with the option to buy," Roig said. "Baptistao is a player we have a lot of confidence in, and we hope he will be a great performer for our club."
