After being at the center of attention at this year’s Copa America, Barça club representatives still are uncertain if Neymar will join the squad as part of their pre-season activity in the USA. The club have three games scheduled for the end of July and early August (they play LA Galaxy in Los Angeles on July 21 , Manchester United in San Francisco, July 25 and wind up in Washington DC where they play José Mourinho’s Chelsea on August 2nd). There is still doubt as to whether Neymar will remain in Chile with the Brazilian squad or leave and start his holiday period. Dunga has given the player freedom to choose after the CBF (Brazilian Football Federation) decided not to appeal against the players sanction.
Barcelona officials have said to be concerned that Neymar’s situation has gleaned more media coverage that they would have liked and are aware that a decent break from football is necessary for the Brazilian player.
Jordi Alba came to the defense of his team-mate. “It’s obvious that opponents go after him. I would have blown up before. Neymar has plenty of patience and does well to keep quiet so often”, assured the Barça player.
