Cheryshev returns to Madrid after his loan spell at Villarreal and his future is still uncertain. At Real Madrid, they consider selling him (or including him in some operation), but Benitez does not want to let him go unless they sign a player for the right wing. In that case, the Russian could have options to stay at Madrid.

On the other hand, the player is on vacation in the Dominican Republic waiting for a call from the club or the coach to inform him if they count on him. "My future affects several parties involved, so it's not easy. I have to go back to Real Madrid, which will have to decide. And once Madrid decides, we'll see what happens," Cheryshev commented on June 8.

Interest. AS already reported on June 3 that Liverpool is one of the teams most interested in Cheryshev. The Reds would be willing to offer between 15 and 20 million to sign him. They see him as the best replacement for Sterling, in case the latter leaves Anfield. Villarreal also wants him back despite having signed Samu Castillejo. Cheryshev already acknowledged that the Yellow Submarine is in his thoughts: "If an offer that can be considered irresistible does not arrive, my first option is to stay here." The most important thing for the player is to have playing time and Madrid is a dream where it is more difficult to enjoy prominence. For now, everything is on standby and will only be resolved when the club communicates its decision...

Excelled at Villarreal: seven goals

Cheryshev had an outstanding season on loan at Villarreal. He played 40 official matches (a total of 2,554 minutes) with the Yellow Submarine, scoring seven goals and providing eleven assists. He left behind the injuries that prevented him from shining at Sevilla in the 2013-14 season (he had two this campaign) and showed that he is an elite player. Additionally, he had four matches with Russia (only one friendly).
